Match Day Information for Players and Families

If you need assistance on match day, please speak to one of our Ground Marshals, who can be identified by their high-viz vests.

Welcome to Canning City Football Club. Whether you are playing, coaching, officiating or supporting from the sidelines, this page contains the information you need for match day, including directions, parking, pitch locations, facilities and expected standards of behaviour.

Important Venue Distinction. Canning City FC plays home matches at two venues in Willetton. Junior matches are played at Willetton Reserve, while senior matches are generally played at Burrendah Park.

Before You Travel

Before leaving home, check Squadi and your team communications for the latest fixture details, including the venue, pitch and kick-off time. In wet weather, do not assume your match has been cancelled unless your coach, team manager or the club has confirmed it.

Pitch allocations may change because of scheduling, ground conditions or other matches. Please confirm your pitch with your coach or team manager before arriving.

Facilities at Willetton Park

Facilities available at Willetton Park include:

  • Public toilets.
  • Accessible toilets.
  • Change rooms.
  • Canning City FC clubrooms.
  • Canteen facilities.
    • Accessible parking bays.
    • Drinking fountain.
    • Children’s playground.
    • Grass playing fields.
    • Accessible paths between the car park and pavilion.

Canteen

The Canning City FC canteen is open during scheduled home matches, subject to fixtures and volunteer availability.

A selection of hot food, barbecue items, snacks, and hot and cold drinks is available. EFTPOS and cash payments are accepted.

MiniRoos – What to Expect

MiniRoos matches focus on fun, participation and helping every child enjoy football while developing their skills.

Each match is supported by a Game Leader, who will:

  • Keep the match moving.
  • Assist players with restarts.
  • Explain decisions when needed.
  • Be flexible and patient with young players.
  • Encourage and praise both teams.
  • Help create a positive and supportive environment.
  • Make sure every child has an opportunity to participate and enjoy the game.

Wet Weather and Match Cancellations

Football matches will generally continue in wet weather.

A match may be postponed, relocated or abandoned if:

  • The pitch is unplayable.
  • Lightning or other conditions make it unsafe to play.
  • The City of Canning or Football West closes the venue.

Please check Squadi and your team communications before travelling. Do not assume a match has been cancelled unless your coach, team manager or club has confirmed it.

Spectator Areas

Parents and spectators must remain on the designated spectator side of the pitch and behind any marked spectator line or barrier.

Please:

  • Keep away from team benches and technical areas.
  • Do not stand directly behind the goals where this interferes with the match.
  • Keep pathways and emergency access areas clear.
  • Do not enter the field unless asked by a match official or responding to an emergency.
  • Allow coaches to coach and players to make their own decisions.
  • Supervise younger children throughout the match.

Folding chairs and umbrellas should be positioned safely behind the spectator line.

Parent and Spectator Code of Conduct

Canning City FC wants every player, official and family to enjoy a safe and positive match-day experience.

Parents and spectators are expected to:

  • Remember that children play football for their enjoyment.
  • Encourage players without placing unnecessary pressure on them.
  • Focus on effort, improvement and enjoyment, not only the result.
  • Applaud good play and effort from both teams.
  • Respect referees and accept their decisions.
  • Allow coaches to coach without competing instructions from the sideline.
  • Never ridicule or yell at a player for making a mistake.
  • Never use abusive, threatening, discriminatory or offensive language.
  • Respect players, coaches, officials, volunteers and other spectators.
  • Never enter the field or confront another participant.
  • Follow reasonable directions from club and match officials.
  • Raise concerns calmly through the appropriate club representative after the match.
  • Apply the same standards of behaviour to social media and online comments.

Abuse of players, referees, coaches, volunteers or spectators will not be accepted. Anyone who breaches the code may be asked to leave the venue and may face further club or Football West action.

If you see or experience inappropriate behaviour, please report it immediately to a Ground Marshal or, during a MiniRoos match, the Game Leader.

Player Code of Conduct

Players visiting Canning City FC are expected to:

  • Play according to the Laws of the Game and competition rules.
  • Play fairly and in the spirit of the game.
  • Respect referees and accept their decisions.
  • Respect teammates, opponents, coaches and volunteers.
  • Control their temper and language.
  • Never engage in bullying, intimidation, discrimination or abuse.
  • Follow instructions from coaches and team officials.
  • Look after the grounds, change rooms and equipment.
  • Acknowledge opponents and match officials after the game.
  • Report inappropriate behaviour or safety concerns to a trusted adult or team official.

Dogs at Willetton Park

Dogs must remain on a lead and under effective control at all times.

Please keep dogs away from:

  • The field of play.
  • Team benches and technical areas.
  • Change rooms and clubrooms.
  • The canteen.
  • Children’s play areas.

Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
